Tribute to Phil Robinson

I, along with I’m sure many other County supporters, was deeply shocked and saddened to hear the news of Phil Robinson’s untimely passing. Phil was a dedicated and proud County supporter, a former Co-op board member, and above all, great company.
He always had a wonderful tale or two to tell. His sense of humour was legendary, as was his fondness for a JD & Coke.
I first came across Phil many years ago when he began penning an article for the County programme under his alias Orson Cartier. I’m certain I wasn’t alone in quickly finding it to be the most anticipated read in the programme. Beyond his wicked sense of humour, Phil was a passionate Stopfordian who worked briefly on the Co-op board. He was always on hand to offer help, advice, and friendship.
Phil was an extremely modest man with a real love of music, and we shared many a good night at The Spinning Top. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
On behalf of everyone at the County Co-op, I would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Phil’s family and friends.
RIP Phil.
